Warhol combines paint and silkscreen in this picture of Mao Zedong, a series that he developed in direct response to President Richard Nixon's 1972 check out to China. Warhol took the black and white image of Mao from his Minor Crimson Book (Mao's well-known communist publication), and established hundreds of different sized canvases in the totalit
